Most Meaningful Change
The Community Foundation of Singapore is proud to have initiated or funded a number of successful initiatives that might otherwise not have occurred if not for our unique ability to convene charity partners and donors. For example, we started a Community Impact Fund called Safe Home Scheme. This aims to provide a safe environment for seniors, people with disabilities or people recovering from stroke by funding the cost of occupational therapists, contractors and the implementation of home modifications. CFS collaborated with a charity with relevant expertise, and appealed to various donors to fund this initiative. In view of this need, the government has since established a grant that can be used for specific types of home modifications. Safe Home Scheme, however, continues to be relevant as it is a comprehensive service that benefits people whose needs extend beyond what is provided by the government.
