Mission
To invest in gender equity, by building the economic and social capacities of marginalized women, through fundraising and grantmaking imperatives
Most Meaningful Change
In the Kelamangalam and Thaly blocks of Krishnagiri, Tamilnadu, women members of the local Panchayati Raj institutions have successfully managed to claim about 1,178 community certificates, 119 old-age pensions, 141 ration cards, 214 house site pattas, 51 birth certificates, 40 voter identity cards and 34 family cards, as well as establish eight ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) centers, 15 new houses, a school compound wall, a burial ground and concrete roads. This is no mean achievement, for it reflects the growing awareness, capacity and willingness of Irula women to interact with government agencies, tackle red tape and take a stand for their rights as equal citizens of this country.
