We have worked tirelessly for the past 11 years to bring about an awareness of the value of community assets as the starting point for funding support, as well as an appreciation that the poor have assets and value and that there is a need to unlock those resources and to place communities at the center of all our interventions. This approach is now taking root in national government pro-poor programs.
